EZTEXT
the best tool for text encoding
We Are Using ezText
With ezText’s ability of auto text encoding detection, you can convert the malformed text files to proper encoding more easily, for example, the srt, ass subtitle files, cue index files, and the txt, html, xml , and other plain text files.
1: Drag the target text file and then drop it on ezText’s application icon will start ezText.
2: Double Clicks the ezText’s icon to start it, and then drag and drop text files into ezText’s drop zone.
3: ezText also registers itself as one of the “Open With…” applications for ass, srt subtitle files, cue index files files and txt, html xml and other plain text files. So, you right-clicks the target file, and then find the ezText application icon in the “Open With…” context menu and start it.
More Detial
In most cases, ezText can detect the text encoding of target file automatically and display result correctly. But, when the target file has insufficient text encoding information or the encoding is hard to be detected, ezText will use UNICODE to show the conversion result as default. Then, you can find a proper encoding in the “All Available Encodings” Popup list and give it a try.
You can click the “Save” button to replace the content of target file with new conversion result, or you can click “Save As…” button to save the result to a custom location. If ezText does not automatically detect the target file’s encoding or incorrect encoding in the Popup list is selected, the “Save” and “Save As…” button will be disabled temporarily. If the result file will be used in other programs, for example, VLC media player, please make sure that the text encoding of them is set to UTF-8.
